hi, all. I hate iTunes with a passion, but sometimes it's necessary when you're trying to transfer stuff from your computer to your iPhone. Last week, I synced my phone with iTunes, and it ate some of my ring tones. I have both custom made tones, and ones that I bought from iTunes. Last week, the sync ate the ones I had purchased from iTunes, and left my custom made ones untouched. Thankfully I was able to redownload them with no charge.
However, I tried to sync my phone again yesterday, fearing what would happen but needing to do it anyway. The phone appears to start syncing, then freezes. It sat there for over two hours, giving me the message "waiting for items to be copied." Eventually, I unplugged it, thinking to restart the process. I restarted both my phone and my computer and tried it again. Now it sits there for a couple hours with the message, "Syncing iPhone, step 6 of 6, waiting for changes to be applied."
Only one thing seems to have changed, of course. Now the other half of my ring tones are gone: all the ones I custom made with GoldWave. I still have the files, but how do I get them back onto the phone when iTunes is doing this? How do I do anything with iTunes now, for that matter? How do I get it to sync propperly again?
Just interested if you had your phone set up to use the cloud? Weird issue.
Maybe if you have not upgrade the iTunes or try using it on the phone directly.
Just suggestions.
